| June 13, 2006 Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting |
| On Tuesday, June 13, 2006, the LDGA President and Vice-President presented a proposal to the Lumberton Parks & Recreation Commission. The proposal was for the establishment of a 9-hole disc golf course in Stephens' Park. Stephens' Park is located off of I-95 exit 19 (Carthage Road). It is a scenic park that is nestled beside the Lumber River. The proposal was well received. There was significant discussion about placing the proposed course at Luther Britt Park and increasing the number of holes to 18. The Parks & Recreation Commission did not appropriate any funds for either site. The proposal was tabled for further discussion. |
| May 24, 2006 Parks & Recreation Director Meeting |
| On Wednesday, May 24, 2006, the LDGA President met with the Lumberton Parks & Recreation Director. The meeting was about presenting a proposal to the Parks & Recreation Commission for the establishment of a disc golf course in Lumberton. The manager of Luther Britt Park was in the meeting as well. There was discussion of upgrading a homemade course done as an Eagle Scout project already at Luther Britt Park. Luther Britt Park is located off of I-95 exit 17 (West 5th Street). It is has two lakes and numerous shelters. It was decided that the LDGA would present a proposal at the next Lumberton Parks & Recreation Commission meeting on June 13, 2006. |
| July 23, 2006 Luther Britt Park Meeting |
| On Monday, July 23, 2006, the LDGA President and Vice-President met with Lumberton Parks & Recreation officials to discuss the proposed 18 hole course at Luther Britt Park. It was decided that the LDGA would be the principle fund raiser for the course. There was discussion of fund raising events and sponsorships. There was considerable discussion of Lumberton Parks & Recreation sponsorship of the LDGA. The proposed course layout was also discussed. There were no decisions on exact hole placements, but installation and maintenance were decided to be a joint venture. |
| July 23, 2006 LDGA Constitution Ratified |
| On Monday, July 23, 2006, the LDGA Constitution vote was complete. The total votes were 7 to 0 in favor of the Constitution as written. To view the LDGA Constitution, click here. |
| August 2, 2006 Lumberton Parks & Recreation Official Sponsors |
| On August 2, 2006, the Lumberton Parks & Recreation issued a letter stating that the Lumberton Disc Golf Association is officially sponsored by the city of Lumberton. The Luther Britt Park Disc Golf Course Project was also officially recognized by the city of Lumberton. The LDGA is now in the process of attaining corporate sponsors for this project. | The LDGA Points Race has begun. Members receive points for participating in area monthly tournaments. LDGA members are awarded 2 points for participating at an approved tournament. Additional points are awarded for each LDGA member that you beat. To view the LDGA Points Race, click here. |
| January 9, 2007 Luther Britt Park Corporate Sponsorship |
| The Luther Britt Disc Golf Course Project has been revamped. There are now three levels of corporate sponsorships that are available. | At the quarterly meeting, Lumberton Disc Golf Association voted for club officers for 2007. The Luther Britt Park Disc Golf Course Project and club membership were the main topics. | February 12, 2007 LDGA Meets With Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce |
| Current form of sponsorships that are available to the Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. In the presentation, the Chamber of Commerce was asked to inform it's members of the opportunity to support the Luther Britt Park project through sponsorships. The proposal was well received by the panel. The LDGA officers met with the Director of Parks & Recreation and the Director of Luther Britt Park that same afternoon. The Parks Department agreed to offer resources to complete the disc golf course project. A time frame for installation was set for June 2007. |

| The LDGA set up a booth at the "Rumba On The Lumber". The booth was manned to the LDGA officers and a inform the public of the Luther Britt Disc Golf Course and introduce the community to the sport of Disc Golf. For more information, Click Here. |
